What is misuse?

If we receive a complaint regarding a domain name held on your account, we will thoroughly investigate it.

If we believe that you have misused our services, including but not limited to a breach of our terms of service, we may close or suspend your account.

Examples of misuse

We will judge each case individually. However, the following will always be considered as misuse of your Fasthosts account:

• Any suspected criminal activity.
• Attempted access to any computer system without the appropriate permission (hacking).
• Virus propagation or generation.
• Breach of copyright.
• The publication of cracks, serial numbers, warez or any other methods of accessing or using software in breach of its licence.
• Pornographic or other sexual material.
• Violent or drug-related content.
• Automatic redirection to sites containing material that would be considered a misuse of our services, such as pornographic, sexual, violent or drug-related material.
• Any scripts that adversely impact system resources - in particular, poorly written scripts that do not make good use of resources.
• Spam (unsolicited commercial email).
• Any incidence of abuse towards a Fasthosts employee whether by email fax or telephone.
