Why email may not be spam filtered

This article describes the reasons why your email can arrive in your mailbox without being spam filtered.

The only email that is spam filtered is that which is sent directly to an email address, or that which has been forwarded externally to the email address.

• Mail sent to domain alias on the Fasthosts system is not filtered.

• Mail forwarded internally from one email address to another is not filtered.

• Mail forwarded by aliases, including the nobody alias, is not filtered.

• Spam is filtered on an email address, not on a domain.

• Spam filtering is included with Advanced and Exchange mailboxes only.
