How to set up roaming SMTP in Microsoft Outlook

This article describes how to setup roaming SMTP. Roaming SMTP enables you to use your Fasthosts SMTP server from wherever you are, independently of your internet connection.

In your Microsoft Outlook client, go to Tools, Services.

From the services list (seen in Fig. A), select the service you want to configure and click Properties. You will now see the configuration setup for the service, as in Fig. B.

Now click Servers to see the screen in Fig. C.

Now, under Outgoing mail server check the My server requires authentication option. The Settings button will be no longer be greyed-out.

Now click Settings to see the screen in Fig. D.

Click the button to select Use same settings as my incoming mail server. Now click /OK.
