Managing your Exchange server with Fasthosts broadband

To reduce unsolicited emails originating from our broadband network we have controlled traffic on port 25.

Quick Tip: This has no effect on any Exchange mailboxes set up in your control panel.

Due to the restrictions using port 25, if you are sending email from a third party application, or are administering your own Exchange server, there are some small modifications you should make.

If you are using a third party application to send emails please follow our guide using a 3rd party mailbox with Fasthosts broadband.

Customers administering their own Exchange server should create an SMTP Connector within their server to send email via our servers. Details on how to create an SMTP connector can be found within the following Microsoft article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/265293.

Note: When setting up an SMTP connector you should specify exchange-outbound.fasthosts.net.uk or exchange-outbound.live-dsl.net as the DNS record.
