BT Engineer appointment information

Appointments between 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). Engineers will upgrade 1 BT faceplate to enable compatibility with the VDSL broadband service.

Where no BT faceplate currently exists, one will be installed within 3 metres of the entrance to the end users premises.

Where an external BT faceplate currently exists, the engineer will install a VDSL compatible faceplate, immediately adjacent to the external faceplate. As part of the appointment the engineer will provide and fit a VDSL 2 modem. This modem will be connected to the data port of the VDSL compatible BT faceplate. The active VDSL 2 modem must be within reach of a power supply, and remain connected to the power and data port of the VDSL compatible BT faceplate at all times.

ADSL filters are not required in the end users premises, as the service is provided to the VDSL compatible BT faceplateand therefore not through to any telephone extensions.

The VDSL 2 modem power supply has a single, low voltage power interface. It will need to be connected to a standard UK domestic 240v (AC) supply, which conform to the relevant standards.

No router will be supplied as part of the Fasthosts broadband package or BT Engineer appointment.
