As part of our commitment to supporting the local community, we’re shouting out the businesses and organisations doing incredible work around Gloucestershire. One of these organisations is Gloucester Brewery.

Whether you’re looking for a cheeky after-work pint, a place to catch up with friends, or an evening to test your pub quiz skills, Gloucester Brewery is the place to be. Born from a passion project by a local chef, it’s been a staple in Gloucester’s nightlife scene for 15 years. It’s grown into an award-winning community hub at the Gloucester Docks, and hosts many events throughout the year.

Based in the heart of the Gloucester Docks in Warehouse 4, they’ve built a tight-knit team of around 18 staff, who all work hard to provide the best experience possible for customers. In a recent employee survey, one of their highest-scoring questions was ‘I am proud to work at Gloucester Brewery’ – which just goes to show the passion their staff have for what they do.

Community is everything at Gloucester Brewery, shown not only in the way they serve customers, but also in the fact that they source their ingredients locally wherever possible. This means they not only fund producers nearby, but also keep their practices green.

As part of their green initiative, Gloucester Brewery have their own spirits brand, Fox’s Kiln, which uses 100% recycled packaging. They’re also working towards a B Corp certification, which will solidify them as one of Gloucestershire’s most sustainable businesses.

Gloucester Brewery is also a big supporter of local charities, like The Hollie Gazzard Trust, Great Western Air Ambulance, CALM, Young Gloucestershire and Linc. As part of this, a portion of the sale of certain products goes towards these charities. For example, 10% of every sale of their ‘Cheeky Chopper’ beer goes to Great Western Air Ambulance.

They not only provide a great event space, but also offer a sales platform for local artists, get involved with monthly litter picks, and partner with the city’s sports clubs. This is just the start of a very long list of things the team do to contribute to charities and organisations in Gloucestershire.

And if you’re looking for something to do this summer, Gloucester Brewery have a packed calendar full of amazing events, like:

  • Monthly comedy nights, showcasing 4 comedians from around the world
  • Quiz nights every Monday so you can flex your trivia skills
  • Brewery tours taking customers through the craft behind the pint
  • Live music every Friday and Saturday night
  • Big Sundays with karaoke and 90s R&B to round off the weekend

Again, this is just a short summary of everything they’ve got going on, but for a full breakdown you can check out their events calendar on their website.

And if we haven’t convinced you yet to take a trip down to Gloucester Brewery, you can feel assured that it’s the safest spot in town – after scoring an incredible 93% in the Best Bar None audit. Their inclusive vibe and diverse crowd prove that this is a venue where everyone can enjoy themselves, feeling safe, accepted and included.
