The nights are drawing in, leaves are falling from the trees, and the temperature is starting to drop… which is exactly why autumn is the ideal time to cosy up with a brand-new game.

Here are 6 of our most hotly anticipated picks for the season.

1. Pokémon Legends: Z-A

We’re a little late to the party here, but we couldn’t begin this blog without acknowledging Pokémon Legends Z-A, which dropped on 16th October. Set in the metropolis of Lumiose City, players have only one goal – to unite the people and Pokémon of the area. The setting allows you to catch Pokémon both in the urban streets and Wild Zones, as well as take action in real-time battles – a first for a Pokémon game.

The game is currently available to download on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

2. The Jackbox Party Pack 11

This family and friends favourite dropped on 23rd October, just in time for the busy holiday season. The Jackbox Party Pack 11 features five new mini-games – including Suspectives, a crime-solving social deduction game, and Legends of Trivia, a cooperative trivia battle for up to six players.

The game is available on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

3. The Outer Worlds 2

The long-awaited sequel to the first-person sci-fi RPG will finally get its release on 29th October. Much like the original game, The Outer Worlds 2 is set in the Arcadia star system, which has been colonised by mega-corporations. Players move through worlds as the Earth Directorate Agent, who has been tasked with uncovering the emerging rifts that could lead to an intergalactic war.

The game will be available to play on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

4. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Another year, another Black Ops. The seventh instalment of this franchise is set to follow a team of agents led by David Mason, acting as a direct sequel to 2012’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Further establishing its relevance in the modern era, the game will also feature AI opponents – among other players and undead creatures – to battle to the death (or un-death).

The game will be available to play on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

5. Kirby Air Riders

While Kirby Air Riders has been designed with a younger audience in mind, there’s no doubt that this game has the potential to become a cult favourite with gamers of all ages. It’s already getting buzz as a unique combination of Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart – and we can see why. Players simply pick from a wide variety of characters – including the titular Kirby, King Dedede, and Meta Knight, to name a few – then race to the sky-high finish line, encountering machines, power-ups, and boss battles as they go.

The game will be released on 20th November on Nintendo Switch 2.

6. Little Nightmares III
