Christmas is a time for presents, food, celebrations and spending time with the ones you love. But what about taking some time to yourself to share in the festive cheer with your virtual friends?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Looking for a wholesome gift exchange with everyone's favourite reindeer? Look no further! Toy Day with Jingle is coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Christmas Eve. As soon as you see Isabelle with her Santa hat on, you’ll know the event has started, so keep your eyes peeled!

Have a chat with Jingle, craft some festive wrapping paper and deliver presents to the villagers. You’ll get rewards for every present you deliver, like stockings and a sleigh. You can also exchange gifts with villagers to receive furniture items from the Christmas Toy Set. So it’s not just your real home you’ll be decorating this year!

Minecraft

Transform your Minecraft world into the North Pole with a whole host of seeds, skins and builds. Why not build a gingerbread house, or Santa’s grotto for you and your friends to visit? Or turn your world into an icy landscape with seeds that’ll guarantee a white Christmas.

Who said dressing up was just for parties? Look the part, with festive skins for any occasion, like Rudolph, a penguin or even the Grinch if that’s your vibe! And with the Craftmas Remastered resource pack you can truly embrace the festive spirit, with skiing villagers, snow and candy canes.

And if all that wasn’t quite fulfilling your holiday needs, you can install the Christmas Tree resource pack to turn all oak trees into, you guessed it, Christmas trees.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

If you’re looking for something a little less ‘Christmassy’ and a little more action-packed, check out Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Set against the snowy backdrop of New York, and following Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, this game follows Miles Morales as he adjusts to a life filled with new powers and new enemies.

Undertale

Although not Christmas themed, Undertale grew in popularity when it was released in 2015 for its cute landscapes, quirky soundtrack and fun characters. Follow your character’s adventure as you meet lots of new friends, take part in battles, complete mini games and discover new worlds.

One of these worlds is Snowdin, where you’ll meet main character Sans for the first time. As you venture further into this wintery landscape, you’ll encounter monsters, like Snowdrake and Ice Cap. You’ll also eventually arrive in Snowdin Town after completing a variety of tasks. Here you can visit the shop and inn. It’s definitely one to give you that cosy feeling.

Counter-Strike

Counter-Strike is definitely not a Christmas game, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add a little festive cheer to your play. There’s a bunch of packs available out there which will give you different options for festive weapons. For example, you can use a Christmas cake as a grenade, or make your gun look like a snowman. Who said you couldn’t celebrate the holidays and fight battles?
